Craig Kelly with his distinctive style was years ahead of his time. Unfortunately his time was up all too soon when he was buried in a gigantic avalanche in British Columbia.
However he was a real pioneer of snowboarding and to watch him on a snowboard is an inspiration for all of us.
To date no one has given a better explanation of what snowboarding is all about then Craig.
"I've had somebody explain snowboarding to me that what I do is an escape from real life it’s a way that I can go out there and just be on my own terms and escape the harshness of reality.
But to me rather than exit from something else snowboarding is really an entrance to where everybody should feel if their alive!
It’s like you are really in tune with the type of person that you want to be and you're comfortable with who you are and your position in the environment and the world and everything that defines you it seems to be all lined up where it should be”.
